LILIXIR Accessibility Statement

LILIXIR believes luxury should be accessible to everyone. This statement explains the current accessibility status of www.lilixir.com, the standards we are working toward, known limitations, and how to reach us for support or to report an issue.

Current conformance status

Partially conformant — www.lilixir.com partially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA and EN 301 549. 

This means the majority of the website meets accessibility requirements, but some content does not yet fully conform.

Known issues are listed below. We are actively working to resolve them.

Legal framework and technical standards

This website is designed to meet the following internationally recognized accessibility standards and legal requirements:

United States: Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III requires places of public accommodation — including e-commerce websites — to be accessible. Courts consistently reference WCAG 2.1 AA as the de facto standard.

European Union: European Accessibility Act (EAA) In force since June 28, 2025. Applies to any e-commerce business accessible to EU consumers. Requires compliance with EN 301 549 and publication of an accessibility statement.

Canada: AODA and Bill C-22 The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and federal accessibility legislation reference WCAG 2.0 Level AA as the minimum standard for customer-facing websites.

Technical standard: EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1 Level AA The EU harmonized standard for digital accessibility, incorporating WCAG 2.1 AA. Referenced across ADA case law, EAA, and AODA. This is the benchmark we measure against.

Our target conformance is WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which covers the four core principles of accessible design:

Perceivable: Content is presented in ways all users can perceive, including text alternatives for non-text content. 

Operable: All functionality is accessible via keyboard and compatible with assistive navigation tools.

Understandable: Content and interactions are clear, predictable, and supported by error prevention and guidance.

Robust: Content is compatible with a wide range of user agents and assistive technologies including screen readers.

What this statement covers

This statement applies to www.lilixir.com, including all product pages, collections, blog articles, the Climate Quiz, account pages, and the checkout flow hosted on our Shopify storefront.

It does not apply to third-party platforms linked from our site (e.g. social media, payment processors), which are governed by their own accessibility policies.

Known limitations

Non-conformant content

The following issues have been identified on our website. We are actively working to resolve these. Where a limitation cannot yet be addressed, an accessible alternative is provided or noted.

• Some images may lack sufficient alternative text Decorative and product imagery across certain pages may not yet have descriptive alt text, making them less accessible to screen reader users. We are auditing and updating these on an ongoing basis. WCAG 1.1.1 — Non-text Content
• Keyboard navigation gaps on some interactive elements Certain custom UI components (product filters, quiz interactions, promotional banners) may not be fully operable via keyboard alone. We are prioritizing these in our remediation roadmap. WCAG 2.1.1 — Keyboard
• Colour contrast on certain UI elements Some text elements and decorative components may not meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required under WCAG AA for normal text. We are identifying and updating affected elements. WCAG 1.4.3 — Contrast (Minimum)
• Third-party embedded content Some third-party integrations (such as review widgets, maps, and social embeds) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. This content is outside our direct control. We are evaluating accessible alternatives where possible. WCAG 4.1.2 — Name, Role, Value
• PDF and downloadable documents Any downloadable documents on the site may not yet be fully accessible. If you require a document in an accessible format, please contact us and we will provide an accessible version or its content in an alternative format within 5 business days. WCAG 1.1.1 / 1.3.1

We are committed to resolving non-conformant content on a rolling basis. Issues are prioritized by their impact on users. This list is updated whenever new issues are identified or resolved. 

How we assess

Assessment approach

We evaluate accessibility through a combination of automated testing and manual review.

Our current assessment methods include:

1. Automated tools Avada Accessibility app, and periodic third-party scan reports
2. Manual review Keyboard-only navigation testing and visual contrast review
3. Assistive technologies Testing with screen readers including VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and NVDA (Windows)
4. Review frequency Statement reviewed and updated at minimum every 12 months, and after major site changes

Note: We use an accessibility overlay tool (Avada Accessibility) to provide users with interface adjustments. This tool supplements — but does not replace — remediation of underlying code issues. 

We are committed to addressing root-level accessibility barriers in addition to providing assistive overlay features.

The menu allows you to adjust contrast, text size, cursor, animations, and other display preferences to suit your needs. Please allow a moment for the menu to fully load after activation.

We aim to respond to all accessibility-related enquiries within 3 business days. If you require content in an alternative accessible format, we will provide it within 5 business days.
